Nightswimming at Arlanda airport

Airports. Self-contained busy little worlds. Crowded places that make my head hurt.

A couple of nights ago I spent the night in an airport… in a hotel in an airport… and discovered the calm quiet alter ego that I always imagined existed. A little surreal… but lovely.

  1. Ahhh … lovely feeling. When I came home from FOWA a few months ago I spent five hours, midnight until 5 in the morning, at Arlanda waiting for my train to Linköping. The airport is really lovely at night, dead quiet and deserted. I really like the feeling, specially this night since I started my code/develop self education project by setting up a local Rails server and took my first steps towards beeing a real geek. Take care, and I hope the flight back to SF was safe and good for both of you ;-)

I agree Andreas! I think it helps that Arlanda is such a beautiful airport too. I can imagine it being quite the perfect place to get into the “zone”. Lots of good movies on the flight home… so not so bad, thanks. :-)

I love airports … it almost always means you are going someplace.
